Sleep Deprived

So...I'm new to the blogging world so you'll just have to bear with me! I just thought since everyone else is doing it...I can too! I thought it would also be nice to look back on in a year or so and see what we were up too...mostly, see what Aselin was up too!

My little turkey-monkey is on a sleeping strike...or should I say, she has been for the last month or so...I thought I was sure a lucky mom when we brought her home from the hospital and she was sleeping through the night or over the second month when my little girl was sleeping in until 11am...but then that comes with staying up until midnight or later fighting to get her to sleep! I feel like such a bad mom sometimes when I have to just plop her in her swing because it's the ONLY way that she'll fall asleep! I am actually getting pretty tired of the swing thing and some days wish that it would just break so I wouldn't have it to rely on anymore! And then other days I am SO thankful for it because my back and arms feel as though they are ready to break!

Last night was sure something else…Aselin was SO tired after her bath and I only let her nap for about 3 hours yesterday afternoon so I didn’t think bedtime would be that much of a battle…boy was I wrong! She just wouldn’t go to sleep…nothing worked and she was wide awake…finally at 1:00 am she finally fell asleep only to wake up screaming at 3:30 am. She wouldn’t eat in bed so I had to get up and feed her on the couch, where she persisted to stay awake and be fussy…she finally fell asleep at about 4:00 am but she would NOT let me move her until around 5:00 am and that was still a struggle…she woke up at 9:00 am grouchy and I finally let her go for a nap at 10:00 am for an hour…then she went back to sleep at 1:00 pm and is still sleeping at 2:30 pm….ahhh I don’t know how to change this!

I’m going to get a couple minutes of shut eye while I can…I’m sure she’ll be raring to go when she wakes up!

  1. I remember those kind of nights. I do not miss them. Are you going to sleep train?

  2. Ahhh...I don't know how much my head can handle! I get such bad headaches when I'm tired! We are going to..I bought the book Solve Your Child's Sleep Problems but it uses the CIO method and I'm not sure I want to go that route...Amy told me that Marie-Eve suggested another book with a name that I can't remember but it uses no crying!

  3. She's probably talking about "The No-Cry Sleep Solution"...good luck :) Don't feel bad about using the swing, if it works it works (for now at least)!
